Behavioral Health Professional Level 1 CPST – Per Diem

Salary - $25/hr.                                                                   FLSA (Non-Exempt)

I.                QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or in related human services, plus

one year of applicable experience or who have been certified in an Evidenced

Based Practice (in lieu of one-year experience requirement).

OR

Bachelor’s degree and certification in an Evidenced Based Practice consistent

with the CPST component being delivered.

OR

Bachelor’s degree and three years applicable experience in children’s mental

health, addiction, and/or foster care/child welfare/juvenile justice or other related and other related human service field.

Skills

1.               Knowledge of Behavioral Health field

2.               Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

3.               Good organizational and time management skills

4.         Good oral/written communication skills

5.         Good interpersonal skills

6.           Knowledge of community agencies and resources

7.           Familiar with computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)

8.               The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items    weighing 40 lbs.

9.           Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State

II.               RESPONSIBLE TO:    Supervisor

III.               MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

1.               Identify individual mental health needs based on ongoing assessments

2.               Develop a therapeutic relationship with individual and/or families

3.               Educate individual and/or family on diagnosis/symptom recognition

4.               Develop care plan

5.               Act as a linkage to community services

6.               Utilize software technology pertinent to program

7.               Maintain required documentation and deadlines

8.               Ensure that a person centered planning process is utilized in delivery of services

9.               Assist individual or family in accessing community resources

10.            Provide crisis intervention

11.            Ensure that individual rights are protected and advocate for individual or family

12.            Participate in and successfully complete all required training and development

13.            Represent the agency and program in the community and with other service providers

14.            Regular and substantial contact with individuals receiving services

15.            Actively participate in team meetings

16.            Perform other job related activities as directed by supervisor

17.            Understand and follow all program policies and procedures
