Behavioral Health Professional – Level 2 Children and Family Treatment and Support Services
OLP- Other Licensed Practitioner
GRADE 10 Per Diem FLSA (Non-Exempt) - $27.00/hr.
I. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
A non-physician licensed behavioral health practitioner
NP-LBHP authorized under OLP is a licensed clinician operating within scope of practice in accordance with the New York State Education Department Office of the Professions include the following:
· Licensed Psychoanalysts
· Licensed Clinical Social Workers
· Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists
· Licensed Mental Health Counselors
· Licensed Masters Social Workers when under the supervision of licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed psychologists, or psychiatrists
· Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
Skills
1. Knowledge of mental illness diagnosis
2. Ability to work with children and families
3. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
4. Good organizational and time management skills
5. Good oral/written communication skills
6. Good interpersonal skills
7. Knowledge of community agencies and resources
8. Ability to work with service providers
9. Familiar with computer programs (e.g. Word, Excel)
10. The ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing 40 lbs.
11. Ability to legally operate a vehicle in NY State
II. RESPONSIBLE TO: Supervisor
III. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
OLP provides individual, group, or family therapy in the home, in the community or other site-based setting when appropriate for a child/youth who has or may be at risk of a mental health or substance use diagnosis.
There are 6 components to this position:
1. Complete Licensed Evaluations (assessment)
2. Treatment Planning
3. Psychotherapy
Crisis Intervention Activities that include:
4. Crisis Triage (By telephone)
5. Crisis Off-Site (In-person)
6. Crisis Complex Care (follow up)
Additional functions:
7. Identify individual client needs and make referrals to additional community services based on ongoing assessments
8. Help prevent the progression of exhibited behavioral health needs through early identification and intervention
9. Develop a therapeutic relationship with child and family
10. Utilize software technology pertinent to program
11. Maintain required documentation and deadlines
12. Ensure that a person centered planning process is utilized in delivery of services
13. Ensure that individual rights are protected and advocate for individual
14. Participate in and successfully complete all required training
15. Represent the agency and program in the community
16. Perform other job related activities as directed by supervisor
17. Understand and follow all program policies and procedures
